Evonet Partners With au Payment And BC Card To Make au PAY Available To 2D Code Merchants In South Korea

March 23, 2026 – Singapore / Tokyo / Seoul

Evonet Global Pte., Ltd. (Headquarters: Singapore; hereinafter “Evonet”) has entered into a partnership with au Payment Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “au Payment”) and BC Card, one of South Korea’s largest payment networks (Headquarters: South Korea; hereinafter “BC Card”), to launch a new overseas payment service that enables the use of au PAY at 2D code merchant locations in South Korea.

Through this collaboration, au PAY, the mobile payment service provided by au Payment, can now be used at BC Card’s QR merchant network operating under the Paybooc brand. Japanese au PAY users traveling to South Korea can make payments smoothly by simply presenting the 2D code displayed on their au PAY app at BC Card’s CPM (Customer Presented Mode) 2D code merchants nationwide. This initiative allows Japanese visitors to South Korea to continue using their familiar au PAY wallet overseas, delivering a more seamless, convenient, and comfortable cashless payment experience while traveling.

Following the launch of inbound usage of overseas wallets in Japan through the “WeChat Pay × au PAY” collaboration, announced in June last year, Evonet has now enabled outbound usage of a Japanese mobile wallet through the “au PAY × BC Card” partnership. This marks an important milestone in the bidirectional expansion of Evonet’s international mobile wallet interoperability network. In this collaboration, Evonet provides the core technological platform that absorbs differences in payment infrastructures and system specifications across countries and regions, enabling seamless connectivity between mobile wallets. As a result, merchants can accept overseas wallet users without the need for large-scale system upgrades or complex operational changes.

Looking ahead, Evonet plans to go beyond payment interoperability between mobile wallet operators by partnering with service providers across a wide range of areas—including remittances, ATMs, coupons, and other value-added services—to create new opportunities beyond payments through its network. Evonet will continue to strengthen its role as a global bridge for mobile payments, enabling users worldwide to use their domestic mobile wallets seamlessly across borders.
